Overview

What is software maintenance and support?

Software maintenance and support keeps a live application working well after it has been launched. It includes fixing bugs, updating frameworks and third-party libraries, monitoring health and errors, improving performance, helping with releases and making small enhancements as business needs change.

Our support is for software applications: web applications, portals, APIs and business systems. It is delivered under an agreed plan that sets out scope, priorities and how requests are handled.

Who it is for

  • Businesses running applications with no dedicated in-house developers
  • Teams whose original developers or vendor are no longer available
  • Organizations that need regular updates to stay secure and supported
  • Product teams that want a steady flow of improvements after launch

Standard support hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00–19:00 IST. Support outside these hours can be arranged and is billed separately for the hours worked.

Problems and outcomes

Problems maintenance and support solves

  • Bugs that never get fixedIssues pile up because nobody owns the application after launch.
  • Outdated dependenciesFrameworks and libraries fall behind, creating security and compatibility risks.
  • Problems found by usersErrors and slowdowns are noticed by customers before your team knows about them.
  • Small changes stuck in a queueMinor improvements wait months because there is no capacity to deliver them.

Intended outcomes

  • Fewer recurring issues and faster fixes
  • Frameworks and libraries kept current and patched
  • A steady flow of small improvements after launch
Capabilities and scope

Solution approach

From application signal to a tested maintenance release

The illustration above shows the main building blocks. The implementation and boundaries are agreed around your systems and delivery requirements.

  1. Observe

Review application health, user reports and known issues.

  2. Prioritize

Classify impact, reproduce issues and agree the next work.

  3. Resolve

Implement fixes or updates with appropriate regression tests.

  4. Release & review

Deploy controlled changes and report outstanding risks.

Industry applications

Where application maintenance can help

Illustrative applications, not claims of completed client projects.

  • Financial services

Investigate operational defects and manage tested application updates.

  • Logistics

Track recurring order and dispatch issues and improve diagnostic coverage.

  • Healthcare

Maintain scheduling and operational applications under agreed access and change controls.

How it works

How support requests are handled

  1. Onboard

We review the application, environments, access and known issues.

    OutputApplication inventory and transition plan

  2. Monitor

Health, errors and dependencies are watched and reported.

    OutputAgreed health checks and baseline

  3. Triage

Requests are logged, prioritized and assigned.

    OutputPrioritized issue queue

  4. Resolve

Fixes and changes are made, tested and released.

    OutputTested change and release record

  5. Report

A regular summary of work done, risks and recommended improvements.

    OutputWork summary and improvement recommendations

FAQs

Software maintenance and support FAQs

Can you support an application you did not build?

Yes. We begin with an onboarding review of the code, infrastructure and known issues, then take over support step by step.

How is a support plan priced?

Plans are usually priced monthly based on the number and complexity of applications and the hours included. Larger changes are quoted separately.

What are your support hours?

Support coverage, response targets, escalation contacts and any out-of-hours work are agreed in the support plan. Please describe the application’s business hours and criticality so the required coverage can be assessed.

Do you provide hardware or end-user IT helpdesk support?

No. Our support covers software applications, such as fixes, updates, monitoring and enhancements. Hardware and desktop helpdesk support are not part of this service.

Can small enhancements be included?

Yes. Support plans can include hours for small improvements alongside fixes and updates.

Who owns the fixes and improvements you make?

Changes are made in your repositories, and ownership of the code is set out in the support agreement. Typically, all fixes and enhancements belong to you.
