Fabric architecture: monthly cost inputs
Illustrative planning model. Rates start blank; no vendor prices are fetched or assumed. Enter dated rates for one currency/region. A capacity's whole-SKU rate is not a per-CU rate. This model neither sizes the platform nor predicts performance.
Scope and rate provenance
Synthetic workload for discussion: 1,000 GB retained, 10 GB/day ingestion, daily pipeline, five concurrent consumers, 10-hour production reporting window × 22 working days. Development/test active hours below are adjustable assumptions. No SKU is validated by this example.
Capacity by environment
Use PAYG hours × whole-capacity hourly rate, OR an amortised monthly reservation plus uncovered PAYG for each row. Do not charge both for the same covered usage. Enter zero explicitly for an unused capacity.
| Environment | Model | Active hours/month | Whole-SKU hourly rate | Amortised reservation/month | Uncovered PAYG/month |

If environments share a capacity, allocate that capacity to one row and set the duplicate rows to zero. Workload utilisation does not discount the hourly cost of capacity that stays active.

All optional zero costs need justification. No savings, currency conversion, taxes, discounts or production sizing are implied. Verify regional availability, licensing and contracted charges. Add migration/training separately if assessing project TCO.
