Synthetic steady-state workload model. Rates are deliberately blank; use consistent currency and billable compute units from your actual quote. No vendor prices, measured runtime or savings claim is supplied. Input GB uses your chosen consistent storage unit; source volume is total across all sources.
Steady-state layer GB = monthly ingest GB × output ratio × retained days / 30 (Bronze ratio is 1). Extra versions/history are entered separately. This simplified model does not predict compaction effects, change retention, replicas, compression or legally required deletion. Ratios describe bytes, not percentages of valid records.
Batch hours = sources × runs/source/month × hours/run × complexity × (1 + reprocessing%/100). Serving hours use the explicitly assumed average concurrency and unit/session factor; this is a planning hypothesis, not a linear performance guarantee or automatic capacity recommendation. Shared mode replaces the four compute charges; it does not automatically remove storage or separately applicable services. Enter zero explicitly if your contract includes a service already, and avoid double-counting Power BI/SQL licence costs.
Setting Silver retained days to zero models no physical Silver storage; it does not remove logical quality, lineage or replay responsibilities. Compare alternatives by adjusting all affected compute/operations assumptions too. Add one-off implementation, tax, data-transfer and other charges to your final business case separately.
